Rovinj: what to see in two days
Rovinj is one of Istria's gems: pastel colours, narrow streets, a Venetian bell tower. Two days are enough to fall in love with it. Here's our recommended itinerary.
Day 1 — The old town
Start in Tito Square and climb slowly towards the Church of St Euphemia, with its sea view. Lose yourself among the streets of the old town and stop for a seafood lunch in a konoba.
In the afternoon, stroll along the seafront to the small marina and enjoy an aperitif at sunset.
Day 2 — Coast and surroundings
An excursion to Punta Corrente park (Zlatni Rt), ideal for a walk among maritime pines and small coves.
In the afternoon, a short boat trip to the islands facing the town, or a visit to Bale (Valle), one of Istria's most beautiful medieval villages.
- Getting around
The old town is pedestrian only: comfortable flat shoes are a must, and suitcases with wheels struggle on the cobblestones.
- When to go
Spring and early autumn: mild weather and fewer crowds than the summer months.
- Documents
ID card or passport. Croatia is in the Schengen area: no fixed border checks.
